Abstract
The research was carried out in April 2012 with the aim of analyzing the content of metals Pb, Cu, and Zn in some types of mollusks in waters of Concong Luar Indragiri Hilir district of Riau province and status of aquatic pollution by using the value of MPI (metal pollution index), as well as to analyze the feasibility level of consumption of several types of molluscs originating from An Concong. The method used is the method by which the survey sampling location is determined by purposive sampling and continued with the analysis of heavy metals in the laboratory. Results of the study showed that the content of heavy metals Pb, Cu and Zn in Lokan (5,63; 21.40; 14.02 μ g/g) is higher than in the Blood Cockle (3.24; 8,17; 9.09 μ g/g) and Red Eye Sea Snail (4.38; 9,19; 11.92 μ g/g). Based on the status of the pollution of the waters of the retrieved value of MPI of 8.65 at Concong Luar waters Indragiri Hilir district, which means low polluted waters.
