dc.description.abstract Abstract The problems that occurred in areas of the State's economy Indonesia is corruption that is currently happening at the Directorate General of Taxation. The purpose of this study was to determine how the public relations strategies in arising a positive image of the public in the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxation Riau and Riau Islands in Pekanbaru. This study used a qualitative method based on primary data source and secondary data and also techniques of data collection of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using strategic communication models and theories of Laswell, where the data obtained and processed to be reduced, served to produce a general conclusion, and examination techniques and data using participatory extension and tringulasi. Through this study it can be seen how the public relations strategy arises a positive image of the public in the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxation Riau and Riau Islands in Pekanbaru, among others, through some aspects of the approaches or PR strategies such as operational strategy, persuasion, and educational, social responsibility approach public relations, partnership approach, and coordinative and integrative approach. Public Relations Directorate General of Taxation to arise positive image to the public / people do accordance with the five types of images, such as a valid image, the image of hope, and the image of the compound. Related factors are the supporting factors such as the availability of infrastructure facilities, good cooperation with the media, and the motivation of the employee to perform public relations training. Factors inhibiting the factors that most employees have formal education beyond public relations, lack of personnel relations, which until now only about 10 people. en_US
