Abstract:
The research was conducted from April 2012 until September 2012 at Fish Hatchery and Breeding Sei Paku Kampar. The purpose of this research was to investigate the dosage of Implantation estradiol-17β with various dosages on gonad maturation of green catfish (Mystus nemurus CV). The method used was experimental method and RAL one factor with 4 level of treatments. The treatment used in this research was implantation estradiol-17β with different dosage of P1= 200 μg/kg of body weight, P2= 400 μg/kg of body weight, P3= 600 μg/kg of body weight and P0= without estradiol-17β as a control respectively.
The best dosage of estradiol-17β treatment was obtained at dosage of 400 μg/kg of body weight which gonadal maturation reached for 28 days, Ovi Somatic Index (IOS) of 10.32%, number of ovulated 59.929 grain and egg diameter of 1.22 mm. The temperature range from 26-310C, DO 2.02 – 2.50 ppm, pH 5-6, Ammonia 0.12 ppm.
