dc.description.abstract A family of secant-like method with a parameter to solve a nonlinear equation is discussed in this article. This method has super-linear convergence, (1 + p 5)=2. Furthermore, the numerical computation shows that the choice of the parameter can affect the number of iteration needed to solve a nonlinear equation. en_US
