Abstract:
Cracking palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) to produce biofuel has been done through the process of catalytic cracking using H-Zeolite catalysts. The reaction was carried out at 340, 360, 3800C and H-Zeolit/PFAD weight ratio 1/100, 1/75 and 1/50. The results of cracking PFAD obtained by physical characteristics of the product approaching specification diesel fuel the density 0834 g / ml, viscosity 1.67 cSt, flash point 3200C and calorific value of 40.39 MJ / kg. PFAD cracking results obtained product with the highest yield of 30% at temperature of 3800C with a weight ratio H-Zeolit/PFAD 1/100, products containing alkane fraction 40.75%, consisting of gasoline 5,37%, kerosene 3.97% and diesel 31.41%.
