Abstract:
This article discusses a new family of generalized quadrature methods which are the
general form of several iteration methods derived using quadrature. This method
takes the form of a weighted two-step Newton iteration method. Analytically, the
new family of generalized quadrature methods has a convergence order of three.
Then certain weight values are selected to obtain several known methods and new
iteration methods. The computational tests show that the new method can be used
as an alternative method to nd a solution of nonlinear equations.
