Abstract
Hulu Kuantan Subdistrict, Kuantan Singingi Regency, is one of the distribution area of ferns in Riau Province. The purpose of this study was to compare morphological characters of Aspleniaceae species from Hulu Kuantan Subdistrict, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. The research was conducted from September to December 2018. Samples were collected using exploration method, and prepared for herbarium specimens in Botanical Laboratory, Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Riau. The morphological characters of species were documented, characterized, and descriptively analized. Two species from Aspleniaceae identified from the study sites were Asplenium nidus and Asplenium longissimum. The main morphological characters that differed these two species were habitat, leaf size and structure, and sorus position.
