Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the differences between creativity thinking and conceptual understanding between the group of students who studied through problem based learning with the group of students through direct instructional strategies.This study was conducted from September to November 2015. Sample in this research are 62 students of 2014 grade in FKIP Biologi UR on sciens learning. This study was an quasy-experimental using the pre-test post-test noneequivalent control group design. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and one way MANOVA. The result of study was stated: (1) there were the differences creativity thinking and conceptual understanding between the group of studentswho studied through problem based learning strategies with the group students of through direct instructional strategies (F=67,151:p<0,05); (2) there were the differences creativity thinking between the group of studentswho studied through problem based learning strategies with the group of students through direct instructional strategies (Farithmetic= 85,601.Ftable= 3,94; p,0,05); (3)there were the differens concptual understanding between the group of students who studied through problem based learning strategies with the group of students through direct instructional strategies(Farithmetic= 86,474.Ftable= 3,94; p,0,05).The conclusion is student’s creativity thinking and conceptual understanding on sciences learningthrough problem based learningbetter than direct instructional strategies.
