Abstract
The economical poverty is very significant to social problem. Urban poverty is a kind of over-urbanization phenomenon which commonly happen in big cities in developing countries, including Pekanbaru. The marginal children are the social problem caused by the economical poverty. This research try to know how the marginal children face their life, and to describe the characteristic social and economic life and also to give information about their educational background. This study is done thru survey method, which includes direct interviews with marginal children at their place. Resulting a conclusion that there are a great diversity of the marginal children’s characterictics. They wish more of economic empowerment such as an entrepreneurship education that can support their family’s economic state
