Abstract

The effect of coal grains with the size of 120 mesh and 53 mesh on physical parameters of elasticity using experimental method has been carried out. The samples used in this experiment were taken from three different locations namely Batu Ampar (Indragiri Hilir Regency), Desa Pangkalan (Kuantan Singingi Regency) and Sawah Lunto Regency. Based on the experimental results, it has been found that the biggest value of elasticity of homogeneous coal with the size of 120 and 53 mesh are 4.26x10 9 N/m2 and 1.97x10 9 N/m2 respectively. While the biggest value of elasticity of heterogeneous coal with the size of 120+53 mesh and 53 +120 mesh are 3.82 x109 N/m2 and 2.41x109 N/m2 respectively which originated from Sawah Lunto Regency. The smallest value of elasticity of homogeneous coal with the size of 120 and 53 mesh are 3.98x10 9 N/m2 and 1.71x10 9 N/m2 respectively. While the smallest value of elasticity of heterogeneous coal with the size of 120+53 mesh and 53 +120 mesh are 3.49 x109 N/m2 and 2.13x109 N/m2 respectively which originated from Batu Ampar Regency. The highest increase of water temperature due to homogeneous coal with the size of 120 and 53 mesh are 30 oC and 20 oC respectively. The highest increase of water temperature due to inhomogeneous coal with the size of 120 + 53 mesh and 53 +120 mesh are 26 oC and 23 oC respectively which originated from Sawah Lunto Regency. The lowest increase of water temperature due to homogeneous coal with the size of 120 and 53 mesh are 28 oC and 17 oC respectively. The lowest increase of water temperature due to inhomogeneous coal with the size of 120 + 53 mesh and 53 +120 mesh are 24 oC and 21 oC respectively which originated from Batu Ampar Regency.
