Abstract
This research explains role of international organization to handling refugees. United
Nations High Commisioner of Refugees (UNHCR) is one of the part of united nations.
UNHCR have a responbility in the case of humanity include refugees problem because
there’re the UNHCR’s mandate. Myanmar have a internal problem that is minority ethnic
desegregation. One of minority ethnic is Rohingya ethnic. Rohingya get cruel treatment from
Junta military. That’s the reasons why Rohingya ethnic leave his country to get a protection
from another country. One of another country be their purpose is Indonesia. In this case,
UNHCR have a role to protec asylum seekers. This research applies qualitative research
method. The data were obtained from books, journals, articles, dictionary and website. The
concept used to this research is role of UNHCR and International organization theory. This
research shows that UNHCR’s role to protecion all asylum seeker from Myanmar and joint
cooperation with Indonesia and another internasional organization that is IOM
(International Organization for Migration).
