Management of costs and schedules is one of the important factors for project
management. The aim of the research is to create an Earned Value Management (EVM)
system that can reduce errors and save time on cost calculations and time on project
work. The EVM method uses the stages of determining the value of the indicator,
calculating the value of the variance of cost and time variance, calculating the
performance and cost performance index, and calculating the cost estimate. The flow of
research conducted was literature study, data collection, analysis of manual EVM
calculations, system design and development, application of the EVM method to the
system, and system testing. This system was tested using data from the Outcome-Based
Education (OBE) curriculum application development project at the University of Riau.
The results obtained from these data are the value of the variance of the use of costs and
the implementation of the schedule that exceeds the target that has been designed. The
cost and schedule performance indexes do not match the project's cost plan and schedule.
It can be estimated that the remaining costs incurred for work that has not been done are
Rp. 4,162,696.98 with an estimated total cost of Rp. 55,812,696.98 so the University of
Riau's OBE project costs Rp 5,812,696.98 more than the specified budget. |
