Abstract
The title of this research is the Ceremony tradition of Ratif Saman in Resun Village, Subdistrict of Lingga Utara, Political District of Lingga, and Province of Kepulauan Riau. This research has goal to describe implementation process of Ratif Saman Ceremony, to know all changes that happen in Ratif Saman Ceremony and to reveal the change causal factor that happens in Ratif Saman Ceremony, and to describe the participants that involve in the implementation of Ratif Saman Ceremony.
The qualitative method is used to analyze the observation data, the collected data is then revealed descriptively to describe or tell observation result by loosening logical sentences so that it is able to be understood easily.
This research is done in Resun Village, Subdistrict of Lingga Utara, Political District of Lingga, and Province of Kepulauan Riau. The result of this research shows there is change in Ratif Saman Ceremony, where nowadays, the people seldom do this ceremony. This thing happens because of some internal and external factors. From internal factor, the pushes from society’s self to change, have education, and have good mindset, heterogeneous habitant, unsatisfaction, tolerant to unmoral action, those are not wide-open and external factor, influence from foreign culture, and contact with another culture.
